They say failure to which the community will experience a number of insecurity that they might not be able to manage.
Asembo East Ward Representative Owiti Angul asked members of the public to collaborate with the provincial administrators in the fight against insecurity in the area.
He said that the crime rate has gone high that the collaboration between the office of the chief and we need to help the chief with the work to arrest all these criminals
He said that recently hit the area can only be contained if the public work hand in hand with the chiefs and their assistants.
He stated that there is need for members of the community to embrace the Nyumba Kumi initiative as a strategy in fighting crime, identify and arrest criminals without fear or favor.
The county law maker told the police to improve security in Aduoyo which has become the bedrock of crime in the area.
“If you don’t report these incidents we will continue to face such incidences here”.says Angul
He was addressing the press when he visited the scene of crime where a 41 year old man was lynched by the public after he allegedly killed and buried a woman inside his house in Aduoyo village.
Mr Angul questioned how a criminal who is alleged to be a wanted man by police in Nairobi and Kisumu was allowed to live comfortably with the community for more than five months undetected despite his parents and a few members of the community knowing his criminal background.
He therefore asked the public to be vigilant and immediately report suspicious looking characters instead of waiting until they commit crime in the village is when they report.
This incident at Aduoyo could have been prevented if they we could have reported this dangerous man who have lived with us , let embrace reporting to the police.
Angul on the other hand urged the public to desist from taking the law into their own hands by killing suspects but instead they should arrest and handover suspects to the police for further investigations adding that killing the suspects makes it difficult for the police to arrest others involved in the case.
