Bay Hockey club had a day field with mixed reaction when they drew level with parklands an experienced club at Kenyatta sports ground on Saturday.
The game started with brilliant passing from parklands testing the home team’s strategy in the opening minutes. Bay playing at home soon settled down to their usual self as the game picked taking control of the game in midfield, stringing some neat passes to threaten on goal.
As the game progressed pilling pressure at the Away team Calvince connected with a superb hit inside the box to pile pressure on their opponents which just edged wide above the keeper.
A loss of concentration in the dying minutes of the 1st half by bay showed just how much experience the parklands team had in there players ,Bernard pouncing on a loose ball in the 35th minute to send it through to the striker who neatly placed in on goal to give them a one goal cushion.
After a scintillating 1st half Bay the lakeside hockey boys come back roaring scoring in the 50th minute from a hard hit from Bornface Aliwa which the man on goal could do little about.
As the game came to a close the lakeside boys got a flick which unfortunately for the team was dragged wide ending the game at 1-1 gifting the Parklands an away point.
In other matches Kisumu Simba thumped KCA 4-2, taking control of the game from the beginning and creating a lot of chances.
Kisumu Simba playing in their backyard played with a lot of patience even introducing there young turk William Oketch who partnered well with their experienced forwards cutting in and spreading neat passes.
Kisumu Simba goals came in the 8th minute from Frank Wanangwe which was then followed quickly with another in the 11TH minute by Arif Shah potentially making them favorites to win the game.
After the half and the pep talks KCA come out strong trying hard to level the deficit pressing high on the pitch to create opportunities but Kisumu Simba were the first to celebrate taking advantage of a loose ball and making it 3-0 at the 49th minute of the game.
KCA replied with a goal on the 50th and 51st minute one through an own goal and Kevin Odour scoring from the penalty spot.
At the closing minute of the game Kisumu Simba made it four goals after brilliant passing inside the box to award an easy goal to their youngster William Oketch
