Bay was on target during the weekend at their home ground piping both Kimathi University and Multimedia University to get all six points and climb to 3rd in the Kenya National Hockey log with 31 points.
The Kisumu Bay boys had a difficult day taming Kimathi University, missing several chances to get the winner. The goal eventually came late in the game via a flick from Brian Otieno which was tacked in the far corner of the post.
Kimathi University also played a good game containing Bay who engaged them at the 18 yard area while pushing for a goal but their goalkeeper was on point saving to keep them level.
Sunday morning gave Bay Hockey club an opportunity to recover after the Kimathi scare on Saturday thumping Multimedia University 4-0 on the day to give them an opportunity to gain promotion to the premier championship next season.
Vincent Odindo scored a hat trick at the 27th, 41st and 65th minute earning him the Kisumu News man of the match title with classic goals and energy in midfield.
Apart from the clean sheet the other scorer for the team was Calvin Oriema netting the third goal from an assist from Bernard Otieno.
Their follow up games will be played next week at their Kisumu Sports home ground against Kenyatta University and the National Youth Service, they are expected to win to gain promotion to the next Premier Hockey League season.
