Fire Kills Two Children

One year old twins were last evening burnt to death at Ajigo Sub-location in Ngula Village Siaya County.

The infants are said to have been left asleep in their house , while their mother Judith Achieng went shopping in the nearby market.

Bondo Sub-County Deputy County Commissioner Mr. Samson Diero Akatch who confirmed the incident said that the infants were left under the care of a 5-year-old boy who is suspected to have lit a tin lamp.

The fire was noticed by a passer-by who raised the alarm and efforts by the villagers to rescue the infants were futile as the fire had already engulfed the whole house.

Akatch however cautioned parents against leaving their children alone with any dangerous equipment to avoid similar incidents.

He at the same time warned Parents to always ensure that their children are under the care of responsible persons.
