Member of Parliament for Uriri Constituency Hon. John Kobado has challenged parents to utilize Secondary Schools in their region.
Hon. Kobado who was speaking during the official launch of Rombe Mixed Secondary School built at a cost of Kshs.2.5M courtesy of Uriri CDF said
that it is needless for the parents to ask for the construction of many secondary schools yet they still admit their children to other good performing school leaving those new schools to collapse.
Kobado said that all schools have the potential of producing students with good grades unless the parents, teachers and students plays their roles
effectively.
The legislator blamed the parents for the influence they get from their kids who always demands to join the schools of their choices despite their poor performance while living those local schools that are able to admit them easily.
Hon. Kobado also urged the parents to utilize these local schools to boost the level of education in the area to reduce the level of illiteracy among the residents.
Meanwhile Kobado has blacklisted two construction companies in the region from getting tenders from the constituency because there shoddy work. He said the constituency cannot continue loosing funds to the semi skilled construction companies which cannot accomplish their task as expected yet they need money.
The launching ceremony was also attended by Central Kanyamkago ward representative Hon. Michael Osongo who urged the community to apply for
ward development fund so that the needy student can reach their destiny in education.
