HOUSE TO DEBATE COUNTY DEVELOPMENT FUNDS FOR MCAs.

Kisumu Members of County Assembly are set to debate the County Ward Development Bill once the MCAs return from recess

The assembly majority leader Samuel Ongow says the Bill is similar to the Constituency Development Fund and will give them an oversight over the fund.

Ongow says the MCAs felt there is need to come up with a Bill to ensure there is money for development in the 35 wards.

“This fund will speed up development at the grass root level and we envisage that every ward will get its allocation to decide on their priority.” Says Ongow

He says the development fund is similar to the one that was launched by the Nairobi County Governor Evans Kidero.

Youth in the county are not of the mind saying that this will be like a white elephant in the county and I see a window of siphoning the county money into the pockets and we will not allow this to happen

Why must these MCAs plans to debate on something that is of their interests only, while we need them as the county stakeholders to debate on the illegal sale of the Kisumu estates. Says Steve Human Right Activist in the lakeside city

The town is duty and we need a cleanup of the same why don’t they emulate other counties to bring something of help here today after recess.

after the debate the bill will be taken to the governor Jack Ranguma to pend his signature after which it becomes a law a waiting its full implementation .
