KISUMU-BUSIA ROAD ACCIDENT INJURES NINE
Kisumu-Busia road accident injures nine people today morning. The accident occurred following a head on collision between a Nissan Matatu and a Lorry ferrying goods to Busia. It occurred at about 7.45 AM next to Kisumu International Airport.
The drivers of the ill-fated vehicles sustained serious injuries.
Five of the victims were rushed to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching Hospitals while others were admitted at the Kisumu East Sub District Hospital.
Kisumu North Police Boss Peter Omanwa said preliminary investigations indicate that the driver of the matatu was overtaking another vehicle.
Omanwa said they have launched investigation to establish the exact cause of the accident.
He urged road users especially drivers to be cautious on the road to avoid carnage.
