The Kisumu County Governor Jack Ranguma has this afternoon reshuffled his cabinet which has seen the suspension and dropping of the Finance Executive Joseph Omulo Okal and the appointment of George Ong’aya in an acting position.
This move comes barely a week after the Deputy Governor Ruth Odinga and a section of members of the Kisumu County Assembly accuse the governor of misappropriating funds set aside for the county’s development to plan an executive retreat to Mombasa The unexpected changes has also seen the Agriculture executive Dr. Stephen Orot and Eng. Vincent Kodera who has been in charge of Roads, Public works and Physical planning both dropped from the cabinet.
Speaking to Kisumu News in his office Hon Jack Ranguma said that move is geared towards enhancing service delivery to the people of Kisumu County as well as identifying individual who are ready to work to contribute to the county’s vision.
Other Executive Members that have been shown the door cabinet include Rhoda Ahonobadha who has been in charge of environment and Water, and Irrigation Executive Prof. Barack Abonyo while those retained include Jennipher Kere of Education, Dr. Elizabeth Ogaja of Health and Dr Rose Kisia Omondi of Tourism.
Those who have been newly appointed include Philip Obade who will be in charge of Agriculture, replacing Dr Orot and Johnson Awuor Odero for Industrialization to replace Hanif Rana who has been moved to the Road Transport and Public Works.
Dr. William Oweke Ojuang’ will now be in charge of Water, Environment and Natural Resources who has replace Rhoda Ahono Obadha.
Michael Otieno will be in charge of Information and Communication Technology.
