Kisumu East MP was this afternoon rushed to the Aga Khan Hospital over an alleged food poisoning. Shakir Shabir is said to have complained of severe stomach upset leading to intense diarrhea and high fever at around 3AM this morning.
According to the hospital’s medical superintendent Dr Sam Oula, Kisumu East MP was admitted at around 2PM this afternoon with diarrhea and hydration but is currently stable as tests are underway to determine the key course of his illness.
Speaking to the press at his hospital bed in the company of his wife, Shakir affirmed that he was doing okay as there was nothing special about his illness although this was the first time him being admitted over a stomach upset.
It’s the first time being admitted with diarrhea with intense reaction, Shakir said.
The Kisumu East Legislature further added that the hospital was taking good care of him as he’s forced stay the night to give room to the tests being conducted to determine the course of his illness according to doctors directive and is patiently looking forward to his discharge as given the current happening in the country, one needs to be cautious about their health.
Am okay, the hospital is taking good care of me, I will stay the night and see if I get discharged tomorrow, he added.
This comes barely a week after when his neighbour Kisumu West also fell ill and was rushed to hospital and to date he has recuperated well .
