Kisumu County Governor Jack Ranguma has warned that the intended construction of a modern eye clinic in Kisumu is likely to go elsewhere due to bad politics in the area.
Ranguma says the project was to be launched tomorrow but Korando community has rejected the construction on their land citing lack of consultation.
The governor says the land was allocated to Lions Club International by the defunct Kisumu Municipal council and proper consultation was done.
He says the eye clinic is a noble investment and Kisumu residents will continue losing good ventures due to bad politics.
Speaking in Kisumu, Ranguma appealed to the residents to tone down on politics and give development a chance.
He announced that he will continue engaging with county residents on what projects they want to be carried out on their land.
Ranguma says Kisumu residents lost out in the construction of Sabatia Eye Hospital that was later built in Vihiga due to bad politics.
