Migori Member of Count Assembly Hon. Hezron Okello has finally graduated from a driving school and will be soon getting his driving license, the MCA was among the 40 people who graduated from Suna Driving School in Migori County.
The MCA criticizes unlicensed colleagues, saying that they many of them don’t have driving license but only take advantage of stickers on their vehicles to drive around indicating their positions and therefore the police officers do not take time to scrutinize the document that they use to drive around.
The legislator who graduated among 40 people with an exception his ward representative title have completed the driving course courtesy of his ward development fund.
Speaking during the graduation ceremony of the grandaunts, the Ward representative Hon. Okello said that most ward representative’s drive without and call upon them to follow suit and get their driving licenses duly.
Hon. Okello said that everyone must follow the law like any other Kenyans and he therefore urged all leaders to show a good example to the masses.
The legislators said that most of the road carnage’s have been contributed by lack of driving skills among the people who purport to be drivers and so he felt it prudent to allocate funds so that youths can use the opportunity to earn a living.
He futher said that most of the youths from Oruba-Ragana ward have been implicated in theft and robbery cases in Migori County a scenario he claimed to have been as a result of unemployment among youths.
He urged other leaders to embark on development and avoid detrimental politics so that the citizen can benefit from this devolution.
The Migori County Legislator said that youths have been misused by politicians for their own gain without any tangible offer for them.
He also challenged the youth from depending on handouts given by the political leaders and instead put the leaders on toes so that they can a long lasting fruit.
The Oruba-Ragan ward is the only ward from Migori County in which married and unmarried youth have been accorded the privilege to join a driving school.
Meanwhile the beneficiaries of the project were overwhelmed with the effort and they urged other local leaders to also consider other citizens when allocating funds and not just school going student.
They said most married persons have desired to undertake the vocational coursed but lack of funds has been the impediment to reach their dream.
