Residents of Suna West Constituency have Ragana area up in arms over biased distribution of Ksh. 17 Million Uwezo Fund to the groups in the constituency.
Migori bias in Uwezo Fund distribution came about when the angry group members said that Hon. Joseph Ndiege excluded ten groups from Ragana area on the basis of being the stronghold of his political rival.
Speaking to Kisumu News in Migori town, ten groups from Ragana said that they are disappointed on how Hon. Ndiege sidelines them because they supported his rival in the previous election.
He don’t want to give us these funds on the basis that we didn’t vote for him in the last genera election since the groups that come from the area that voted him in have received their funds and are working on their projects, said Beatrice a member of one of the groups.
Members of these ten groups that have not benefited from the fund said that they were told that they qualified for the fund and they even attended training on how to use the fund but surprisingly they were not allocated any fund.
They are now appealing to the legislators to put aside his political grudged and work for residents of Suna West constituency as a whole.
They said that most of the groups from Ragana area only got Ksh.50,000 while other groups from his political strong hold were awarded as much as Ksh.500,000.
A beneficiary who is also a political stalwart to Hon. Ndiege revealed to Kisumu News that most groups from Ragana area did not benefit because they did not support the MP during his political quest last year.
He said the groups were just sidelined intentionally without any formula which can be attributed and we hope this stop very soon.
