Deputy President William Ruto’s wife Mrs. Rachel Ruto has asked County Governments of Migori to come up with specific projects aimed at assimilating women in their economic endeavours.
Mrs. Ruto said that by giving women opportunity to apply for tenders and service delivery would make devolution government attractive for business.
Speaking during the launch of Migori County table banking organized by the office of the Migori Women Representative Denita Gati,
Mrs. Ruto said with devolution give authority to create favourable climate for women to conduct businesses without hindrances.
She said her table banking initiative which empowers rural women by imparting entrepreneurial skills and offering financial resources to start up small scale businesses.
The spouse of the Deputy President who was received by Migori top County leaders said that table banking, her project of Joyful Women Organization (JOYWO) seeks to empower Kenyan women economically and enhance house-hold food security among them through supporting their involvement in livelihood projects.
On her side, Gati asked the Migori County leadership to empower women through projects and tenders like town-cleaning, garbage collection, revenue collections among others to fit in the society.
Gati asked women to show interest in applying for the contracts advertised by the County Governments and also to raise questions where on budget appropriations for sustainability.
