The People’s Democratic Party has given an ultimatum to the newly elected Kisumu County Assembly Minority Leader Bob Ndolo Owiyo to relinquish the position or face party disciplinary action.
Ndolo was sworn in to office two weeks ago after the assembly voted out Edwin Anayo as the Minority Leader.
In a letter signed by PDP leader Omingo Magara and party Secretary General Erick Mbiu, the party termed the swearing in of Ndolo as unconstitutional.
The party has now directed Ndolo to reverse his swearing in on his own motion within the next seven days and communicate to the party accordingly.
PDP says Ndolo has gone against the party position to stage a coup and illegally and unlawfully elevate himself as the new Minority Leader.
The party says they had slotted Ndolo as the Minority Whip in the assembly, a position he did not take up.
The party reminded Ndolo that he is a nominated member of the County Assembly sponsored by PDP and should always abide by the party positions.
The letter further alleged that the party has received numerous complains about Ndolo following his utterances and alliances.
The party also threatened to withdraw benefits accruing to Ndolo as a member of the party if he fails to comply with the directive.
