Kisumu Central MP Ken Obura has drafted a notice of motion to be presented in parliament to allow for the establishment of a select committee to investigate the mysterious deaths that have occurred in the country in the recent past.
Obura, who is a member of the Departmental Committee on Administration and National Security, says Kenyans are concerned of the mysterious deaths of several national leaders including the late Senator Mutula Kilonzo, Senator Otieno Kajwang and Fidel Odinga.
The MP says there is concern that the causes of death of these prominent national leaders have been shrouded in mystery creating unnecessary anxiety among different groups of people.
Obura says the constitution guarantees the right of every person to life and that no person shall be deprived of life intentionally. He urged parliament to establish a select committee to comprehensively investigate and inquire into the causes of death of the three personalities.
Obura says the committee will consider and review all related findings on the deaths and table its report within 90 days and approves a list of MPs to constitute the committee.
The MP has positioned himself as the chairman of that committee, Hon. Soipan Tuya his Vice Chairman, Hon. Ababu Namwamba and Bare Shill as members of the committee amongst other MPs.
