CORD leader Raila Odinga has kicked off campaigns in Homa Bay County for the ODM nominee Moses Otieno Kajwang with a call for the county residents to turn up in large numbers to vote for their candidate.
Raila said the by election is critical for the ODM party noting that it should be used as a political statement that the party is still strong.
He said the number of votes for the ODM candidate will be a pointer for the coming general election in 2017.
He said his candidature in the coming election will be pegged on the outcome of the Senatorial by election.
Speaking at Chabera trading centre in Kabondo Kasipul constituency where he kicked off the campaigns for Kajwang, Raila maintained that he is ready to absolve ODM party from the blame at the ICC.
Kakamega Senator Bonny Khalwale who accompanied the former prime minister says the win for Kajwang will be a boost for the coalition.
Khalwale said that the by election will determine the candidature of Raila in 2017.
This is the wave to reckon with 2017 and it has stated to move all the rabbles on the way he hover added that CORD must win the by election by whatever cost it will take, says Khalwale
The campaign for Kajwang trail culminated in to a rally in Homa Bay town was attended by several senators, MPs and a section of CORD Governors.
