RAMPANT INSECURITY IN RANEN

Residents of Migori County have blamed the security personnel over rampant insecurity in Ranen area of that region.

The residents’ complain comes following rampant cases of alleged murder in the recent past which has been specked when a body of a middle aged man was recovered killed and dumped in Ranen market.

According to the eye witness Mr. Nicholous Okoth, the body of the deceased, whose name has been established as Dan Nyawade had blood stains and swelling on the neck which insinuate that he was murdered.

However, OCS Awendo town, Purity Kobia disputed the public that the deceased was murdered as the residents who were at the scene claim saying that the police preliminary report indicated that the deceased who had been suffering from epilepsies must have died after consuming illicit brew.

She however said that the police are already doing an investigation to establish what might have led to the demise.

It is not the first time residents of Ranen, Awendo constituency are complaining of insecurity in the region.

The residents are now appealing to the police to intensify security in Ranen Market and it’s environs saying that they have been conducting their businesses with a lot of fear.

The body of the deceased is preserved at Rapcom, Mortuary in Awendo waiting for an autopsy.
