Aston Martin has revealed its amazing track-only hypercar, the Aston Martin Vulcan Supercar. The Aston Martin Vulcan Supercar is set to steal the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, it will go up against the McLaren P1 GTR a British racetrack special, but the McLaren has nothing on the Vulcan Supercar. Let wait and see how the show down goes…
The Vulcan, named after the iconic delta wing strategic bomber aircraft, will be the most expensive Aston Martin ever sold – list price is £1.5 million, plus taxes. In the UK, this equals to a cool £1.8 million.
The 7.0-litre V12 produces 800hp. ‘At least’ 800hp, adds Aston Martin – all without using laggy turbochargers. It has been developed by the Aston Martin Racing Motor Sports Team, but the firm isn’t yet saying just how fast it is: we’ll have to wait for its track debut later this year.
The engine has so much power, and the Vulcan is so light, Aston Martin says the power-to-weight ratio exceeds those of FIA World Endurance Championship GTE racers!
The Aston Martin Vulcan Supercar is speculatively fast that the Aston Martin Team are giving away full tuition, technical support and an experience package for all the buyers. The Aston Martin Vulcan Supercar is not road-legal: meaning it can not be driven on normal roads and after purchase the supercar will be transported to the racetrack for the new owners. Training is by the best and sessions will be led by Le Mans 24 Hours winner Darren Turner.
Just like a real racing car, the Vulcan is made entirely from carbon fibre; both monocoque and body are built by specialist firm Multimax. Interestingly, Aston Martin says the Vulcan will comply with all relevant FIA race safety requirements.
Aston Martin CEO Dr Andy Palmer said:
A sports car for true sports car lovers, I believe the Aston Martin Vulcan – and the unique ownership programme that sits behind it – sets a whole new standard in the ultra-high luxury supercar class.”
Aston Martin will only build 24 Vulcan hypercars. Why this number? To reflect the firm’s success in 24-hour endurance racing. Interest is already high, adds Palmer. Want one, and have £1.8 million spare? Best get your order in fast…
