The County Government of Uasin Gishu has this yesterday afternoon agreed to partner with other with other counties in securing market for its maize farmers.
Speaking in Eldoret earlier yesterday, the County Executive in charge of Agriculture Cyril Cheruiyot said the county plans to meet with other counties to plan for the same.
We want to get market for our maize farmers, so we will meet with counties that do not produce enough maize such as Baringo and other counties, said Cheruiyot.
The CeC said the county is set to harvest and therefore the market should also be identified early.
Our farmers have been complaining of poor markets for their produce but we want to assure them that the ready market will be identified soon, said Cheruiyot.
According to the County Executive, the success of the partnership will benefit will benefit both counties.
